About this tool

One photo rarely fits every social profile, post and story. This tool crops or fits one source image into several common sizes, lets you adjust the framing, and downloads the results as individual files or a ZIP. All processing happens in the tab.

How to resize an image for social media

Read moreShow less
  1. Add a source image. A larger, sharp original gives you more room to crop. JPEG, PNG and WebP are supported.
  2. Choose one or more presets. The first preset is the primary preview. Add others to create a set. Each preset is a convenience size, not a promise about how a platform will crop it in every layout.
  3. Adjust the primary framing. Drag to move the image and use the zoom control. The same crop centre is applied to the other selected sizes, so you can keep the subject in the same relative position.
  4. Choose crop or fit. Crop fills the frame and may cut the edges. Fit keeps the whole image and fills the remaining space with a background colour. Use crop for photos and fit for graphics with important edges.
  5. Set the format and quality. JPEG is usually best for photos. PNG preserves transparency and sharp graphics. WebP can be smaller in modern browsers.
  6. Generate and download. Check each result. The ZIP contains the selected sizes; individual downloads are better when you only need one platform.

Why the same image looks different on each platform

Read moreShow less

A platform may show a square crop in one place and a tall crop in another. A link preview may be generated from the page rather than the image you upload. Profile banners are often covered by avatars or interface elements. The presets here give you a clean file at a common size; they cannot control the final layout. Keep important text and faces away from the edges, and check the current platform guidance before a campaign.

Preset accuracy

The bundled sizes are common values collected for convenience. Platforms change their recommended dimensions and crops. Treat every preset as a starting point and verify the current requirement in the platform’s own uploader or help centre. The interface does not claim that a file is “approved” or guaranteed to display without cropping. The notes on each preset point out the main risk, such as safe areas or a timeline crop.

Good uses

Read moreShow less
  • Preparing one photo for several social profiles without stretched faces.
  • Making a consistent set of post images from a single design.
  • Creating a link-preview image for a blog post.
  • Producing a thumbnail and a vertical cover from the same source.
  • Checking how a subject looks in square and vertical crops before publishing.

Limits

Read moreShow less
  • No automatic face detection: you choose the crop. The tool does not know where the important part of the image is.
  • No background removal: use the separate background tool if you need a cutout, and expect its plain-background limits.
  • No batch input: one source image at a time, with multiple output sizes.
  • No platform upload: the tool creates files; you still upload them yourself.
  • No guarantee of display: a platform can crop, compress or reject a file for reasons outside this tool’s control.

Privacy

The image is decoded and rendered in this browser. It is not uploaded to OmniEmu. The output files are created locally and downloaded directly. Working copies are cleared when you reset or close the tab. Ordinary page and hosting requests are separate from the image and are covered by the privacy policy.

Frequently asked questions

Should I crop or fit?

Read moreShow less

Crop when the subject can lose some edges and you want the frame filled. Fit when the whole image matters, such as a logo, chart or text-heavy graphic. Fit adds a background colour around the image.

Why does the preview show one size but the ZIP has several?

Read moreShow less

The large preview uses the primary preset so you can judge the crop. The other selected presets use the same crop centre at their own dimensions. Check the output list before downloading.

Can I make a transparent PNG?

Read moreShow less

Yes, choose PNG. If the source has transparency and you choose JPEG, the transparent areas are filled with the selected background colour.

Are these the official platform sizes?

Read moreShow less

They are common convenience sizes, not an official guarantee. Platforms change recommendations and apply their own crops. Check the current guidance in the platform’s uploader.

Why is my file still large?

Read moreShow less

Pixel dimensions and file size are different constraints. A 1080 x 1080 PNG can still be large. Use JPEG or WebP for photos, lower the quality, or run the result through the image compressor if the upload form has a byte limit.
